Jeep recently announced that the Jeep Cherokee will get a major redesign for the 2019 model year. While the Jeep Cherokee is already a favorite among drivers, the brand – known for its off-road vehicles – is adding new features and new look that will only add to the experience. Let’s take a quick look at what the 2019 Jeep Cherokee will offer drivers.
2019 Jeep Cherokee Powertrain
The all-new Jeep Cherokee has an available 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine also has stop-start technology. Other engine options for this new model includes the 3.2-liter Pentastar® V6 engine and the 2.4-liter Tigershark® four-cylinder engine. Drivers can experience improved fuel economy because of the Jeep Cherokee’s improved nine-speed transmission.
Exterior Design for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee
To further enhance the Jeep Cherokee’s fuel efficiency, this new mid-size SUV saved about 200 pounds of weight with redesigned parts made with alternative materials. Jeep also made an effort to correct features that drivers were not fond of in the past several models. An update to the front end of the vehicle has given it a more smooth and modern look that fits in perfectly with Jeep’s other incredible cars. The exterior features new rectangular headlights and a traditional-looking seven-slot grille. The tailgate is also newly remodeled.
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee’s Interior Features
The inside of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee features 28 cubic feet of space behind the back seats, allowing driving to store and haul more cargo. This is especially great for those wanting a car for more than just heading to and from work. The car’s Uconnect® infotainment system available in select trims has also been updated with Android Auto® and Apple CarPlay® capability, as well as a 7-inch or 8.4-inch touchscreen.
